Session Objective Understand what makes a good business logo Apply design concepts when developing a business logo and house style (corporate ID) for Fly-A-Way Travel

What are logo’s? Business logos are design patterns / images created to represent a business, Examples: A computer company might have a small computer logo, An entertainment company might have a film or musical logo design There are thousands of businesses that make use of a logo, Business logos can be considered as the visual illustration of the business, They are important because they also appear on standard company documents: Business cards, brochures, web pages and advertising always use logos to represent the business.

Advantages It is through the business logo that the business is recognized in the market. The business logo provides authenticity to a business. It illustrates the theme of the business it represents. A business logo is very important in representing the business online. Most online viewers are attracted to well designed business logos. The business logo is used in an assortment of activities including: Representing the business Marketing ease Online promotion Attracting clients Identifying the business Proper business outlooks

Design Rules A logo design should be eye catching and simple, It should be designed using a simple colour pattern and short text, It is unprofessional to make the logo unnecessarily flamboyant, Check a similar logo design is not used by any other business, Avoid heavy decorations and different combinations of colour in the logo design.

Today’s Task Using the rules learnt today create a logo for Fly Away Travel. Think about the colours used as these will form the corporate image – e.g. is Bright Green Suitable?? Using the logo develop a full house style for Fly- Away-Travel
