Hera and Heracles The story behind Heracles and Hera

The Story of Hera There has been beef between Hera and Heracles throughout his entire life.  Hera's jealous towards Heracles actually came about before he was born. Hera’s anger came about because Zeus and all of his affairs (Alcemene) and others. Hera’s husband Zeus not only has kids by her and Alcemene but he has numerous. Zeus has fathered numerous children and engaged in adultery often.  For some reason, Hera decided to focus all of her anger on Heracles alone. While still inside his mother Hera still found away to attack Heracles. In the words of Heracles father Zeus "this day shall Eileiuthuia . . . bring a man child in to the world who shall be lord over all that dwell about him who are of my blood and lineage."

The Story of Hera Hera drives Heracles mad and he starts to kill his family. Heracles even killed Megara and 2 sons of Iphicles  (Apollodorus: 2.4.12; Euripides : Heracles 922 ff.). Hera also sent a gadfly to break up the people of Geryon's cattle.  Another one of her interference’s with Heracles was when she had a big storm sent his way while with Troy. Every time Hera messes with Heracles Zeus punishes her. Hera’s punishment’s be hanging her off the edge of Mount Olympus.

The Story of Hera There are many reliable souls that show Heracles and the daughter Hera, Hebe, getting married. Some people believe that Hebe is just an empression of her mother Hera. Meaning Heracles is actually married Hera.  Some people keep exaggerating the story by saying that since Hera is a maternal figure to him at points in his life, he is marrying his mother. After Heracles and Hebe married, Hera is pose to performe a adoption ceremoniy. There are many different myth’s that show Heracles suckling Hera’s milk when he was a baby, which consequently makes him immortal .
