-How are you today? You look knackered. -I was out and about all day. Glossary: Knackered = tired To be out and about = to do things you usually do

Phrases like ‘do the ironing’ and ‘do the washing-up’ are collocations Phrases like ‘do the ironing’ and ‘do the washing-up’ are collocations. Correct: I do the ironing. Incorrect: I make the ironing.

How does Maria say she likes something and how does she say she doesn’t like something? Maria: I absolutely love doing the washing-up but I can’t stand cooking.
