October 19 th -23 rd, 2015 Hello AGASSI STAR Accelerated Kindergarten Families! Thank you for all those wonderful Hispanic projects and your support in our Fiesta. Green High Frequency words are attached to the Newsletter, please make sure your scholar continues to practice all of his/her words. Things to Remember: Completed homework daily is required not recommended (Please support your child in completing their homework independently) Parent Teacher Conferences start Wednesday, October 28 and all day Thursday, October 29 th - No school for students that day. Picture Make-Up Day will be Wednesday, November 4 th Your child should dress in the correct school uniform daily with all black or all white shoes and blue pants, shorts or skirts Parents you are a pivotal person in the academic success of your child and their success in the Andre Agassi Accelerated Kindergarten program. Thank you for supporting your child through these practices. Remember… Each Wednesday is early dismissal at 1:45 PM Wednesday, October 28 th Literature On Parade Must Bring Book if your scholar is dressing up. Thursday, October 29 th NO SCHOOL- Parent Teacher Conferences Friday, October 30 th NO SCHOOL- Nevada Day!!! Remember to check your child’s folder for when they are Student of the Day! Their name on the calendar indicates what day they are the student of the day. Please bring a snack for that day, peanut free. Complete Homework Daily! Week of October 19 th -23 rd Home Study Sheet Parents, Below is a list of the homework you can expect to see for your child this week. Please make sure you support your child to complete ALL of their homework every night. In addition to the homework listed below, please begin to work with your child to learn the RED,ORANGE, YELLOW,GREEN high-frequency words by sight and spelling. High frequency words are words we see often in print. Many of these words cannot be sounded out, so kindergarteners will memorize how to read and spell them. Please review them nightly with your child, as this is a very important component of our curriculum. Students are assessed on these words and rewarded with a raindrop on our Kindergarten Rainbow Wall once they master a group of words. Congratulations to those that have received their Red and Orange raindrops!!!!! Review High Frequency Words Nightly!!!
