Manatee County Sheriff’s Office Making a difference in our community

An opportunity to “house” both the criminal and dependency functions of child welfare within the same division. February 21, 1997, the Child Protective Investigations Section, was created at the Manatee County Sheriff Office.

What Makes MSO Unique? First Sheriff’s Office in the state of Florida to take over Child Protective Investigations. Housed within the same building: Sex Offender Unit Crimes Against Children Unit Domestic Violence Unit School Resource Officers Unit Child Protection Services Unit

What are we seeing locally?

CPS Cases Worked by Investigators

All Children Removed

Top Three Reasons for Removal Family Violence Threatened Harm Substance Misuse Child Neglect

Manatee County’s population is approximately 20% children, but they are 100% of our future. We proudly partner with faith-based organizations to make a true difference in our community.
