Target Audience High school athletes grades 9-12 Sports ranging from: basketball, baseball, football, volleyball, weight lifting, swimming, cross country, track, tennis, wrestling, lacrosse

Introduction Many high school teens involved in various sports. Often unaware risks associated with physical activity. Risks can be reduced/eliminated by taking proper precautions. Learning certain skills can enhance performance. Skills: nutrition, avoiding harmful substances, and controlling emotions.

Are you getting enough? Carbohydrates –57% of energy –Two types: simple vs. complex –Sources include: grains, pastas, breads Fats –30% of energy –Two types: unsaturated vs. saturated –Sources include: dairy products and oils
