MEERKATS BY: Erin

Hey guess who I am I am a Meerkat you are going to learn a lot about me! You are going to learn what I eat, my adaptations, my habitat, physical characteristics, and enemies

Food And Feeding Now I am going to tell you about what I eat and how I catch it well I eat scorpions, centipedes, millipedes, snakes, birds, leaves, spiders, lizards, moths, grubs, mice, roots, melons, and more and how we catch them is we forge around to find them and we have one “sentry” to look out for predators.

Habitat Well Meerkats live in Southern Africa in the Kalahari desserts savannah grasslands and it is hot, dry land and does not have a lot of plants.

Physical Characteristics Some physical characteristics are that a Meerkat can grow up to 20 inches from head to the tip of the tail. And can have 4-5 babies the colors of the Meerkats are brown, tan, and whitish-gray the tail is 8 inches long and they can live up to years old.

Adaptations Meerkats take of each other and Meerkats are in packs other Meerkats from different packs are not welcome and as Meerkats emerge from the burrows, selected individuals to stand guard and watch for predators. And Meerkats physical adaptations are that relying on its sense of smell a Meerkat is a successful forager. Behavioral

Enemies Their enemies are hawks, eagles, and jackals. hawk eagle jackal
