ANAEMIA ŞİFA-TUĞÇE

WHAT IS ANAEMIA? Anaemia is a medical condition in which the red blood cell count or hemoglobin is less than normal.

WHAT IS ANAEMIA? For men, anemia is typically defined as hemoglobin level of less than 13.5 gram/100ml and in women as hemoglobin of less than 12.0 gram/100ml.

WHAT CAUSES ANAEMIA? Not having enough iron Blood loss: excessive bleeding such as hemorrhages or abnormal menstrual bleeding Chronic illness  Cancer therapy: surgery, radiotherapy, chemotherapy and/or immunotherapy Infiltration (replacement) of bone marrow with cancer Hemolysis: Breakdown or destruction of red blood cells Decreased red cell production

SYMPTOMS OF ANAEMIA

ANEMIA IS TREATED: with changes in your diet and iron supplements

ANEMIA IS TREATED: with folic acid supplements

ANEMIA IS TREATED: With blood transfusions to boost levels of red blood cells
