How did the Oklahoma flag get its design? Lauren

AFTER THE 1917 RUSSIAN REVOLUTION, THEIR OLD FLAG BEGAN TO LOOK TO MUCH LIKE A COMMUNIST FLAG. 

A CONTEST WAS HELD IN 1924 TO CREATE A NEW FLAG; MRS A CONTEST WAS HELD IN 1924 TO CREATE A NEW FLAG; MRS.FLUKES JR FLAG WON.

IT REPRESENTS MORE THAN 60 NATIVE AMERICAN GROUPS AND THEIR ANCESTORS.

HOW DID OKLAHOMA GET ITS NAME? -MIKEY

Why is Oklahoma called the sooner state?

Back when Oklahoma was giving out free land to settlers thousands of people stood on the border waiting for the signal to go claim land. But some people went into Oklahoma early before they should have. These people were called sooner's.

The Sooners where so infamous and popular that a university took the name ‘Sooners’ for the name of their team.

If you got caught in the land before they allowed people in, you would be shot, killed, or tortured.
