Pathogenesis Human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) I type &II type – isolated from blood, serum, genital secretions, breast milk, cerebrospinal fluid, urine, saliva and lacrimal fluid. Main infection routes – Sexual activity – Blood infection(blood products transfusion, sharing of needles for drugs, needle stick accidents) – Mother-to-child infection
