Step 1: Enter the number of cations

Step 2 for Column 4: divide column 1 by column 2 and multiply by the number of cations

Step 3 for Column 5: enter the ratio of oxygens to cations in oxide

Step 4 for Column 6: multiply column 4 by column 5

Step 5: calculate the total of columns 4 and 6, then add them together.

Final Step for column 7: divide each entry in column 4 by (totals C4 + C6) and multiply by 100 Don’t forget to include oxygen, which will be the largest percent. Col 7 = C4/(total C4 + total C6) then multiply by 100
