Floods in Brazil December 2013 December of 2013 was an extremely rainy month for the states of Espirito Santo, Minas Gerais and Bahia in Brazil. The state of Minas Gerais withstood millimeters (32.8 inches) of rain from December 1 to 27, more than 400 percent of December’s average rainfall. (Source: Brazil’s National Meteorology Institute)
