They are: Archery, Athletics, Badminton, Basketball, Beach Volleyball, Boxing, Canoeing, Cycling, Diving, Equestrian, Fencing, Football, Gymnastics, Handball, Hockey, Judo, Modern Pentathlon, Rowing, Sailing, Shooting, Swimming, Table Tennis, Taekwondo, Tennis, Trampoline, Triathlon, Volleyball, Water Polo, Weightlifting and Wrestling. VenuesVenuesVenuesVenues Olympic Stadium ExCel ExCel is the largest competition venue at the London 2012 Olympics. With experience at staging major events, it is built up with 5 arenas each of which will hold different sports games. It holds Boxing, Judo, Fencing, Table Tennis, Taekwondo, Wrestling and Weightlifting. Wembley Stadium Home It is one of the most famous stadia in the world. It is also the one of the largest venues. Wembley Stadium will be holding the London 2012 Football tournaments. Olympic Stadium is at the heart of the Olympic Park. It will host the 4 spectacular Opening and Closing ceremonies. It holds the Athletics games.

The competition requires athletes to run faster, jump higher, throw further, and leap longer than their opponents. The game has 2,000 athletes competing in 47 events, which makes Athletics as the largest single sport at the Games. Competition Venue: Olympic Park, Olympic Stadium – Track, Field and combined events. The Mall – Marathon and Race Walk. Competition Dates: Friday 3 rd August - Sunday 12 th August Home

Across the 6 major grounds in the UK, it provides the drama that the fans of the game have come for from major international tournaments. Competition Venues: City of Coventry Stadium, Coventry Hampden Park, Glasgow Millennium Stadium, Cardiff Old Trafford, Manchester St James’ Park, New Castle Upon Tyne Wembley Stadium Number of Competitors: 288 men and 216 women. Altogether, 504 candidates.

SwimmingSwimmingSwimmingSwimming Home Swimming is a very popular leisure activity and competitive sport, therefore it has been featured in every modern Olympic games. Speed, strength and stamina are the important keys for athletes in the competition which features no fewer than 34 medal events. Competition Dates: Saturday 28th July – Saturday 4th August Competition Venues: Olympic Park, Aquatics Centre – Swimming Hyde Park – Marathon Swimming Number of Competitors: 950 candidates; 900 in pool events and 50 in Marathon Swimming.
