Nightly Routine Every night your child will bring home their red folder. The red folder will contain the behavior calendar for the month, any important papers that need to be kept at home or sent back to school, and any notes or money for me, and all homework. Please send back every day! Homework will not begin until after Labor Day!

Discipline Policy If you have not read and signed my discipline policy, please do so before leaving!

Video & Picture Release Form This is provided to obtain written permission to videotape and or photograph your child.

“Letter Muncher” Through the studies of ABC’s, we ask students to bring in an object that begins with that letter. You may want to assist them in the beginning, and later allow them to make their own choices. Incorrect responses will be discussed and investigated, not shunned.

Bus and Pickups For the first two weeks of school, your child must wear their tags that identify if they are bus riders or pickup. Please fill that out at this time if you have not already done so.

Morning Routine You may bring your child in the first day to walk him/her through the morning routine. 1 st Job- Check in with Ms.Lanier/Mrs. Shepard. 2 nd Job- Make lunch choice. 3 rd Job- Find you cubby for book bag. 4 th Job- Find seat and begin morning work After the first day, we ask that you drop your child off at the door.

Breakfast If your child wishes to eat breakfast at school, please make sure they do so before checking in with us!

Picking up your child Please pick him/her up by 3:30 in the cafeteria. If you need to check your child out, please do so by 3:15.***Early Check outs and tardies may count against attendance***see OCS policy ***Please do not come to the room for afternoon pick-up.

Notes If your child is changing his/her afternoon bus/pickup plans, please send a note the morning of and put it in the back of the red folder with their name, date, teachers name, bus number, and address. ALL CHANGES MUST BE MADE BY 2:00 P.M.

Transportation Changes Transportation Changes will no longer be taken over the phone. Students must bring in a note or parents must fax a note to the school. The fax number is (910)

Volunteer Policy We absolutely love volunteers! We will not be calling you in until the end of September. This will give our children time to adjust! You can be fingerprinted at the county office. I will need helpers to come work in class or groups, and even volunteers who can do other jobs out of their homes. Please let me know if you are interested!

Visitors & Volunteers Please sign in at the front office and get a sticker that states if you are a visitor. This is for the safety of your children, this is the school’s way of knowing who is on campus!

Lunch You are welcome to join your child for lunch. I once again respectively request that this begins at the end of September, giving us time to adjust. Our lunch time is 10:55 – 11:20 am. **Parents must write a note stating that another person plans to attend lunch with their child prior to their visit in order for them to be allowed to eat lunch with the student (ex: grandparents, aunts, uncles, friends, etc..) Cost of Lunch is Student, full paying $2.00 Student, reduced.40 Breakfast Student, full paying $1.25 Reduced is free.

Birthday Goodies School policy requires that all food products are store bought, with the ingredient label intact. Please let me know a day in advance if you plan to bring goodies for your child’s birthday. Please notify us of any food allergies your child may have!

Snack Please provide a daily snack. PTO is selling popcorn on Fridays for $.50

Was your child absent? If your child was absent, please send in a note. After several days with no note, the school generates a not so pleasant note. This note is NOT from us! To prevent yourself from receiving this note, please send in notes! ***Please note 20 absences may = retention * Students must stay at school until 12:00 to be counted present*

Clothes and Shoes -Please send in seasonal appropriate clothes in case there is an uh-oh, there can be dry and clean clothes available! -Girls need to make sure to wear shorts under skirts and dresses. -Flip flops are NOT allowed at school. You may wear sandals with straps on the back.

Information Sheet Please fill out my information sheet (hot pink). This will inform us of important information on how we may contact you and how your child will be going home daily. During the year, if there is any telephone number changes please let us know, in case we need to contact you.

Early Release Days Please indicate how your child will be going home on the Early Release Days (September 10, October 8, February 11, March 11, and April 8). Please keep in mind that the Boys and Girls Club will not be open on Early Release Days

Donations Donations into the class are greatly accepted. Items that are constantly needed are: Magic Erasers (Mr. Clean) Baby Wipes Clorox and Lysol Wipes (to prevent sicknesses!!!) Books Velcro Clear Sheet Protectors Expo Markers
