He hitch-hiked France, so he could get to Scotland.

3.Why did Eugene want to move to Scotland?

He was rejected in the American air force and he was told that in Scotland, all races are treated as equal, and as he wanted to pursue his dream of going into the air force he went to where he had a chance.
