ANIMISM AND SIKHISM

 Animism is the belief that many things in nature have their own spirit.  It is one of the earliest forms of religion OVERVIEW OF ANIMISM

 Animism is considered a tribal religion, and each group of families, known as a CLAN, identified with a particular animal.  The family would never harm or eat that particular animal OVERVIEW OF ANIMISM

 In Sub-Saharan Africa, many tribes believed that animals, plants, and places had their own spirits. EXAMPLES

 In many Native American cultures, their Medicine Men would make contact with the spirit world to help facilitate healing. EXAMPLES

 In ancient Japan, people believed that spirits, also called KAMI, existed in nature. This nature belief led to another religion called SHINTOISM. EXAMPLES

 People who believe in Sikhism are called SIKHS. OVERVIEW OF SIKHISM
