9 This story is dedication to my Uncle Steve because he helped me with my math. When the ref called me out with a foul Bucky rolled on the floor and demolished the ref’s big toe. The game was over and we didn’t win, but I won a friend. On the way home in the car Bucky told me I was his very best pal and I replied that he was my very best pet rock. I’m so glad that Buckeye stayed with me and I can’t wait for him to go to my next game!

81 One cold day I was sitting by the river in Estes Park when I heard a faint scream for some assistance. I punched a hole in the icy river and grabbed a rock and the screaming stopped. I thought I heard the scream again so I put down the rock to look for the direction the scream was coming from. All of a sudden the rock rolled to me. I decided to bring him to my basketball game later that afternoon. I put him in my game bag. When my family and I arrived I ran to my team and dropped my game bag on the floor. I open the bag so Bucky could see me play and he came out of the bag and hopped on my coach.

2 7 I picked up the rock to throw it back in the river and it started to talk to me! The rock said to me, “Please do not throw me back in the icy cold river. My name is Buckeye and I’m from Ohio.’’ I thought it was cool he was from Ohio, because I had been there to visit my grandparents a couple of times. I made a couple of repairs to the sticks and brushed off the dust so that he looked personable. I told Bucky I was glad I found him and took him to my room where I put him on my desk.

6 3 I told him that my name was Jakob and I was here with my family. I pointed out my sister Mikaela talking on her cell phone, my dad listening to the football game on the bench, and my mom shopping for wine in another shop up the river walk. Buckeye sure traveled a great distance in the river to end up in Colorado! After my dad dashed in the house like a made bull, I quickly searched for him and found Buckeye a little scuffed up. I pulled him out, brought him inside and disguised him with some funky hair and two sticks so he looks like a skis.

4 5 After talking to him for a while Buckeye and I became good friends and I decided that I would take him home and to my basketball game. We hopped in the car and headed back to Denver.. I snuck him home in my sister’s backpack because our dad didn't like us bringing everything we find home. I told Buckeye that Mikaela would put her backpack in the back of the car and I would get him out when we start for home I mentioned that he was going to have to be very quiet on the ride home so my dad didn’t throw him out and he said he would. When we got home I accidentally dropped him in front of my dad. He picked him up and tossed him into the rock pile in front of our house. All I could hear was Buckeye hitting the other rocks with a loud sound. Bang!
