FILLING OF VACANCIES In line with the ICD Strategic Business plan ( ), vacant positions must be filled as soon as possible and at any rate within a period of three (3) months. The Provincial Office endeavours as much as possible to follow this objective to the latter. Although in most instances, vacant positions are filled within the three (3) month period, there are exceptional situations which make it impossible to fill in vacant positions within the stipulated three month period. ESTABLISHMENT OF SATELLITE OFFICES The ICD has realized as early as the year 2005 the need for the establishment of Satellite Offices in order to extend its services to the most needy communities in South Africa. In the Eastern Cape potential Satellite Office locations have been identified as Mthatha, Port Elizabeth and Queenstown. These locations were decided upon as a result of the high number of complaints that were received in these areas. So far, because of budgetary constrains, only one office has been established and it is in Mthatha. This office was opened in May 2007 and officially launched in September It is servicing the former Transkei area which in itself is very huge and consists of 43 policing areas. The office is currently staffed by four (4) personnel in the following capacities: 1 X Principal Investigator 1 X Senior Investigator 1 X Case Analyst 1 X Admin Clerk (Vacant)
