Urinary System Anatomy

Aorta Largest blood vessel; carries blood from heart to all parts of the body

Inferior Vena Cava Carries blood back to the heart from the lower body

Renal Artery Branches off the aorta; carries blood to the kidneys

Renal Vein Carries cleansed blood from the kidneys back to the Inf. Vena Cava

Kidney Main organs of the excretory system; filter toxins from the blood, regulate water volume in blood, and blood pressure

Ureter (2) Contains urine form the collecting tubules; carries urine to bladder

Urinary Bladder Muscular pouch that stores urine until it is ready to be eliminated from body

Urethra Tube that connects the bladder to outside of the body
