Our country Palestine is famous for planting olive trees.it is distinguished from other countries because of it is famous holy places and trees that was mentioned in the holy Quraan. Every year in November comes the season of picking the beautiful olives that are filled with natural vegetarian oil which is considered as the finest kind of oil. So Palestinians celebrate this short timing season. In picking olives, they depend on their hands they fill many bags with olives, then they carry it after cleaning it very well. After that they take it to a place called “al-bad” in which olives are squeezed to get oils out of them.

This is a photo of me with the headmistress of our school carrying a plate of green olives.

Preparing dough with other students to bake it on “al-saj”(a traditional oven)(al-saj Is a big pan heated on fire ). We the dough on the saj and we were very happy with it is tasty smell.

A classmate is giving other students hot delicious bread in a group meal breakfast under the observation of the teacher inside the classroom.

A group of students sitting on the breakfast table which included many kinds of pickled olives oils and other kinds of main food such as “Labaneh”

We washed the olives and classified them, green olives apart from black olives.

We put olives on a sheet then we hit it using a stone this process is to open the olives for water, salt and lemon to reach it from inside and also to get rid of the bitter taste of olives.

In the end we put olives in a glass jar with water, salt, lemon and pipper.

The head mistress of our school joined us in our meat, we were very happy for her presence.

After the breakfast I participated with on of my classmates in a drawing activity about the holy olive tree. It was a special day in my life that I wont ever forget.
