Preparing to Pilot February ‘07 - teacher committee narrows state-approved 7/8 science texts to two top choices: Prentice Hall and Holt March ‘07 - science pilot team attends training from publishers.

Piloting Process Teachers pilot for two quarters. Each teacher communicates on a regular basis with a partner who pilots the other publisher. All piloting teachers come together periodically, calibrate their numbers, and hand in individual scores.

Side-by-side Standards Sampling A rubric and scoring sheet was developed using input from both the Science adoption Toolkit and Math Adoption Toolkit. The texts from the two publishers were evaluated comparatively in a side-by-side manner. Content and assessment were the two categories evaluated.
