Student Referrals Overall referrals are down by 23% Red Zone down by 14 ½ % Yellow Zone down by 4 ½ % Green Zone is up by 19%

Factors Building Connections Students are: responding to interventions in the classroom. spending more time in class accessing the content. demonstrating appropriate behaviors in other areas not just the classroom. participating in advisory activities to work on team building. widely recognized for appropriate behavior using support time to work with teachers.

Factors Building Connections Staff are: learning more about students and their personal interest. watching and supporting after school sports. completing a book study using the book Teach Like a Champ. completed an asset assessment on all students to identify strengths/weakness of each student. using team meetings to discuss students and their needs. using various modes of communication with families. sending home post cards.

Factors Bruin Pride (Pride, Responsibility, Integrity, Dignity, Excellence) Daily lessons are taught about Azalea’s expectations. We have advisory daily to work on social/emotional needs ( empathy, bystander, power, bullying- signs and ways to report, conflict resolution, anger management, substances abuse and health). Bruin Bucks: getting caught displaying “Bruin Pride” Rewards for those that are demonstrating the expectations Self managers who are modeling the expectations and now have badges to get to participate in various activities. Friendly advisory competitions Administrators are in the halls greeting kids and encouraging them to be the best that they can be.

Factors Academic Success Offering support time for those that need the additional help. Teachers are available now before and after school. 34% of students are on the honor roll (3.0 or higher). Success is celebrated in classes and in the office by Administrators. Students in athletics are having progress reports to help them keep up their grades. We offer an after school homework club that is support with instructional assistances that are aware of the assignments. Trying and making progress is celebrated and encouraged.
