Everything you ever needed to know about Gator Reward Cards!

What are Gator Reward Cards? This morning your homeroom teacher will give you a green Gator Reward Card. Your name and the name of your homeroom teacher will be on the card. The card will be stapled into your agenda. You will see that the card has numbers 1 – 20.

What are Gator Reward Cards? You will also see the GATORS behaviors printed on the card. Your teachers, counselors, and administrators would like for you to display these behaviors on a daily basis.

What are the GATORS behaviors? G- Giving respect to yourself and others. What are some ways you can show respect to yourself and others. Please discuss this within your homeroom.

What are the GATORS behaviors? A – Attendance. Please discuss in your homeroom why coming to school each day is important.

What are the GATORS behaviors? T- Take Responsibility. Taking responsibility for your actions is very important. What are some examples of taking responsibility for your actions? Please discuss this in your homeroom.

What are the GATORS behaviors? O- On task. Please discuss in your homeroom what being on task means and what behaviors demonstrate being on task.

What are the GATORS behaviors? R- Ready with Materials. How does being prepared for class help you? Please discuss in your homeroom.

What are the GATORS behaviors? S – Striving for Success. What behaviors in your class would show that you want to be successful in class and in school? Please discuss this in homeroom.

How the card works. When your teachers, counselors, and administrators see you actively doing the GATORS behaviors they have a hole punch and can punch your card. Please do not ask your teachers to punch your card.

How the card works. Once your card has all 20 numbers punched, you will turn the card in to your team leader. Your team leader will have a “goodie” basket and you will be allowed to take one item from the basket. Your team leader will then give you a new card.

What happens to the old cards? The completed cards will be turned in to your Guidance Counselor. The Guidance Counselor will keep track of how many completed cards you turn in each nine weeks. At the end of the nine weeks the students with more than one completed card will receive an extra reward. The grade level with the most completed cards will also receive an extra reward.

Putting it all together. Now you know what a Gator Reward Card is and why you have one. This card can earn you rewards just by following the school and classroom rules and doing what is expected of you on a daily basis. Now, who will get their first card completed and which grade will have the most completed cards each nine weeks?
