Put God First God is first – Matthew 6:33 “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.” 1 Corinthians 4:7 “For who makes you differ from another? And what do you have that you did not receive? Now if you did indeed receive it, why do you boast as if you had not received it?” 8

Put God First Each should give as he is prospered. – 1 Corinthians 16:2 “On the first day of the week let each one of you lay something aside, storing up as he may prosper, that there be no collections when I come.” Each should give as he purposes in his heart – 2 Corinthians 9:7a “So let each one give as he purposes in his heart,…” Each should give cheerfully – 2 Corinthians 9:7 “…not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver.” 9

Put God to the Test Malachi 3:8-9 “Will man rob God? Yet you are robbing me. But you say, 'How have we robbed you?' In your tithes and contributions. You are cursed with a curse, for you are robbing me, the whole nation of you.” Malachi 3:10 “Bring the full tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. And thereby put me to the test, says the LORD of hosts, if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour down for you a blessing until there is no more need.” 10

Put God to the Test Proverbs 11:24-25 “There is one who scatters, yet increases more; And there is one who withholds more than is right, But it leads to poverty. The generous soul will be made rich, And he who waters will also be watered himself.” Luke 6:38 “Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.” 11
