I AM LEGEND Jeff Bullis The story of I am legend follows Robert Neville living in a post apocalyptic world which has been ravaged by a virus. The story follows Neville's daily life in Los Angeles from January of 1976 to January of 1979, as he attempts to stay alive and possibly cure the disease that killed mankind, and to which he is immune. Neville's past is revealed through flashbacks, while his emotional struggle to cope with losing his humanity is dealt with by going about a daily routine. Every day, Neville prepares for the attacks of the vampires at night. Neville spends the day fixing his house, boarding windows, hanging garlic garlands, disposing of vampire corpses and gathering supplies. Once darkness falls, the vampires come out of hiding and lay siege to Neville's house. They taunt him in an attempt to make him come out. In June 1978, Neville comes across a seemingly uninfected woman abroad in the daylight and captures her. He learns that her name is ruth. Neville does not trust her from the very beginning. Before Ruth leaves she tells Robert that the infected are beginning to be able to be in the sunlight for a short period of time and that they are attempting to form a new society. The vampires fear Robert and see him as a threat. They send hunters after him and they finally catch him an imprison him. If you want to find out what happens after that you will have to read the book

The Author Richard Matheson has had many works published and has been involved in alot of science fiction works. Some of his projects include The X Files, and Twilight Zone. He has written 27 novels and 92 Short stories. Many of his works have been transformed into T.V. episodes and various movies.

Which would I recommend more Personally I like the movie more that I do the book. I feel that Will Smith perfectly portrayed Robert Neville and I feel that needs to be acknowledged. There weren’t many differences between the movie and the book. I felt that the movie was more interesting and I felt that it did a better job of keeping someone’s attention I Give the book 3 out of 5 stars and the movie 4 out 5 stars
