doc.: IEEE /0028r1 Submission January 2011 Bruce Kraemer, MarvellSlide 5 NIST PAP2 Version 0.6 was reviewed extensively in 802 and suggested changes generated by group and documented in 1316r4 were supplied to NIST (Doc 1396-r3) NIST Version 1.0 of the PAP2 report is expected to be available for review around January 15 –perhaps in time for the Los Angeles meeting.

doc.: IEEE /0028r1 Submission January 2011 Bruce Kraemer, MarvellSlide 6 Australia Australia has issued a call for candidates for their Smart Metering HAN Responses from 802 should be provided –Probably best from individual WG, e.g , but some coordinated discussion required –Because of the tight association of technology to metering application functionality, responses to many of the questions will be very difficult –

doc.: IEEE /0028r1 Submission January 2011 Bruce Kraemer, MarvellSlide 7 More Details The NSMP HAN interface standard RFI document, and the Smart Metering Infrastructure Minimum Functionality Specification documents are published below (under BRWG documentation) or downloaded via the following links: NSMP - HAN interface standard RFI version 1.1NSMP - HAN interface standard RFI version 1.1, PDF, 156KB BRWG deliverable 01 - Smart Metering Infrastructure (SMI) Minimum Functionality Specification v1.1BRWG deliverable 01 - Smart Metering Infrastructure (SMI) Minimum Functionality Specification v1.1, PDF, 1237KB ~ 100 additional documents on meetings minutes, requirements, national goals, etc can be found on the web site.

doc.: IEEE /0028r1 Submission January 2011 Bruce Kraemer, MarvellSlide 8 Australian HAN RFI Request for information– home area network (HAN) interface standard The NSSC is required under its terms of reference to provide advice to the Ministerial Council on Energy's (MCE's) Standing Committee of Officials (SCO) on an open standard to support the provision of a home area network (HAN) for customers using the smart metering infrastructure. The NSSC has issued a request for information (RFI) to standard organisations to provide information on the capabilities of their HAN standard to meet the minimum functionality requirements for a HAN. The objectives of the RFI are to confirm that: –the HAN minimum functionality requirements (section 7.9 of the Smart Metering Infastructure Minimum Functionality Specification, version 1.1) are clearly understood and unambiguously stated –one or more standards are capable of meeting the minimum functionality requirements for a HAN interface

doc.: IEEE /0028r1 Submission January 2011 Bruce Kraemer, MarvellSlide 9 Australian HAN RFI The schedule for the RFI is as follows: 20 December 2010Issue the RFI to standards organisations 21 January 2011Standards organisations to register their participation via 31 January 2011Closing date for questions 11 February 2011Submissions due date 14 to 25 February 2011Preparation of initial evaluation and first draft of review to be sent to the BRWG 28 February 2011Issue RFI draft evaluation to the BRWG 8-9 March 2011First BRWG workshop review March 2011BRWG's HAN Technical Group work (as required) 5-6 April 2011Final BRWG workshop review 12 April 2011Submission of the RFI report and Smart Metering Infrastructure Functionality Specification Change Control to the NSSC 20 April 2011NSSC meeting May 2011Issue HAN interface standard report to the MCE's SCO

Call started at 2:05pm ET 2. Remind we are operating with IEEE-SA Meeting Rules and Patent Policy no issues. 3. Review of Document 11-11/0028r0. We walked through the slides. There was no questions or comments. No disagreement to discussion topics for next week. Only comment was satisfaction noting that we were coordinating this effort with , and that the discussion would be carried on both reflectors. I noted that there were two times in the schedule, and that the folks were welcome to attend. 4. Topics for discussion next week: PAP2 Report Status New Australian Smart Metering RFI Additional topics for LA SGIP news UK Consultation Status FG-Smart in ITU 5. Adjourned 2:18pm Minutes
