Why is it used?

Styles of Game Art Pixel – 2D art that uses a limited color panel and is the coloring and defining of the exact pixels in an image.  Games that want to generate a nostalgic feel  Easiest type of game art to create Software to create Pixel art:  Photoshop  Gimp  Paint.net

Styles of Game Art Voxel Art – Pixel art in 3D. Where pixel art is created by small colored squares, voxel art uses cubes. Software to create Voxel Art  Paint 3D  Sproxel  Voxel

Style of Game Art Vector Graphics – One single file supports multiple resolutions. Image remains sharp regardless of size. Software for Vector Graphics  Corel Draw  Inkscape  Gimp  Adobe Flash

Style of Game Art 3D Art/Modeling – An image built with polygons. This style of art requires modeling of the object, rigging, shading, skinning, mapping, sculpting, and usually animation. Could also require simple programming. Software  Autodesk 3Ds Max  Autodesk Maya  Blender

Review Why is concept art important in the game development process? Identify a style of game art and a software that is used to create the art.
