Nursing IN

Educational opportunities 4 year bachelor degree course at a nursing university 3 year course at a junior nursing college 3 year course at a nursing school

4 Year Bachelor degree Graduating from the nursing university allows the future nurse to take the national examination for registered nurse, public health nurse or midwife. The goal of the educational plan for the university is to give the student a wider range of areas of study while teaching the student critical thinking skills that prepares the nurse to make educated judgments in their careers.

Nursing School and Junior College The educational goal places more emphasis on the practical skill needed in nursing Both these routes are three year programs. The allow the graduate to take the national examination for registered nursing. If the nurse wants to pursue a career as a midwife or be a public health nurse he/she must complete specialty courses and take the corresponding national examinations

The first university that specialized in nursing was established in 1952 In April 2006 the number of universities the offer nursing classes increased to universities in Japan offer postgraduate nursing courses 37 of these universities also offer doctorate courses

Enrollment

The Japanese nursing association successfully lobbied for the mandatory clinical training after graduation which was previously voluntary This came out of a desire to ensure patient safety and secure qualified nursing care for all

Pass rate of Nursing national examination

The growing elderly population and well as an aging workforce has lead to an nursing shortage much like the one face and may countries.

Nursing shortage Japanese medical association estimate that there will be a shortage of nurses exceeding by April of 2008 The yearly influx of new nurses per year is not enough to keep up with the increasing demand as well as the retiring of the aging nursing staff

Nursing shortage Japan has attempted to alleviate its nursing shortage by allowing foreigners trained nurses to practice in the Japanese medical field 205 Indonesian caregivers and nurses where the first allowed this privilege. Although this has sparked concern that this move would cause a deterioration in the working conditions of the native born member of the healthcare field.

Thru training more nursing staff and the use of foreign nursing staff the Japanese are attempting to deal with the nursing shortage. More schools in Japan have started nursing programs. The use of foreign workers is also a new attempt to deal with the shortage. Unfortunately this is only a stopgap measure that also cause some concern for the current workforce. More nurses are needed around the world. To deal with this problem we need more teachers and caring individuals to take up the call.

NURSES WILL BE NEEDED
