Mixed Number Definition: A mixed number is a whole number with a fraction. Examples: 2 ½ 6 ¾
Improper Fraction Definition: A Improper fraction is when the numerator of a fraction is bigger than the denominator. Examples: 8/5 13/8
Renaming Mixed Numbers Definition: To rename a mixed fraction, both the numerator and denominator have to go into the same number, to get smaller. After you find that number you have to divide that number by the D and N. Examples: 10/20= ½ 9/12= ¾
Common Denominator Definition: A number which all the denominators of a set of fractions can be divided without a remainder. Examples: 2/3=6/9 12/18= 6/9
Simplest Form Definition: The simplest form is when a fraction is at its lowest terms. Examples: 20/100=1/5 80/90=8/9
