PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT PLAN Lauren Hawkins OCCT 508 Summer 2014

YEAR ONE Personal: I will have a date night with my husband at least one night per month in order to foster our relationship I will complete at least one road race in the Las Vegas area to participate in a leisure activity Career: I will contact an occupational therapist currently working in the military in order to receive more information on working with the military population to promote learning I will participate in a social justice activity involving the military (ex: Wounded Warrior Trials at Nellis AFB) in order to network with this population Educational: I will have an least a 3.5 grade point average in order to provide myself motivation I will pass Neuroanatomy with at least an 80% in order to provide myself motivation Recreation/Leisure: I will workout at least five times per week in order to promote health and stress reduction I will read one non-school related book per semester in order to promote occupational balance

YEAR THREE Personal: I will get another dog to add to my family in order to increase my quality of life  I will purchase my own car in order to reduce my stress level Career: After graduating from Touro University in 2016, I will accept my first full-time position in order to utilize my hard-earned degree I will, after gaining work experience, be a traveling therapist for one to two years in order to fulfill my desire to travel and learn  Educational: I will attend at least one American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) conference in order to continue learning I will choose a specialty or certification within occupational therapy that I would like to pursue in the future in order to continue learning and motivate myself as a clinician Recreation/Leisure: I will complete at least one half-marathon in order to promote health and wellness I will travel to a new vacation destination with my husband in order to promote occupational balance

YEAR FIVE Personal: I will, along with my husband, find a permanent place to call home in order to facilitate a sense of community I will start a family in order to fulfill a lifelong dream Career: I will have found a permanent full-time occupational therapy position in order to utilize my degree and fulfill my passion for occupational therapy I will work with the military population in order to have a meaningful career Educational: I will begin working towards my specialty certification in order to pursue my passion for learning I will begin looking for a doctorate programs in order to further my career Recreation/Leisure: I will continue to workout at least five times a week in order to promote health and wellness I will go on a beach vacation with my husband in order to promote occupational balance

YEAR TEN Personal: I will pay off at least 75% of my student loans in order to I will own a house to fulfill a lifelong dream Career: I will present at either an AOTA conference or AOTA specialty conference in order to motivate myself to stay current within the profession I will travel and complete mission work involving my profession to help others who need it Educational: I will complete a doctorate program in order to advance my career I will complete my specialty certification in order to motivate me to stay current in my profession Recreation/Leisure: I will complete at least three half marathons to promote health and wellness I will travel to Europe in order to promote occupational balance
