Computer Applications I 3.02 Purpose of Publications Business Cards and Letterhead

Business Card and Letterhead The purpose of both:  for a business or individual to communicate contact information. Both publications often include:  the name  address, phone numbers, address, web address  a logo or picture  other important contact information

Characteristics of a Business Card Contains contact information for a business or individual. Distributed and used to help recipients remember you. Will includes the contact information. Some cards include a personal photograph.

Characteristics of a Business Card (cont.) The business card differs according to user preference. The most important aspect of a business card is:  Readability  professional appearance Usually printed on card stock…heavier paper that will hold up better against wear and tear caused by keeping it in a pocket or billfold.

Characteristics of Letterhead/Stationery Heading at the top and sometimes at the bottom. Used by businesses, organizations, or individuals to communicate a message and relay contact information. Adds a sense of professionalism and credibility. Usually includes the contact info and logo.

Characteristics of Letterhead/Stationery (Cont.) Designs vary. When used with a business card and envelope, the color scheme and graphics should be consistent. Templates and wizards can be used.
