Setting Up the BINDER This is your EVERYTHING This BINDER is your LIFE in ELA class It is to be organized and NEAT at all times!

Sections: You will need 4 tab dividers Label each piece of paper at the FAR RIGHT SIDE for the particular section Section 1 Warm-Ups Section 2 Notes Unit 1-Foundations (Yellow Paper) Unit 2-Narratives (Purple Paper) Unit 3-Informational/Argument (Green Paper) Section 3 Classroom Magazines Section 4 Progress Monitoring Goals Tracking Assignments Returned Papers Place paper in sections 1-2

Sections: With paper in EACH SECTION this means you will write on each piece of paper (FRONT and BACK) should be used for a WEEK… Example- we will have a WARM-UP EVERY SINGLE DAY….You will need to use the entire sheet of paper FRONT and BACK for one WHOLE WEEK! Labeling it with the date.

Warm-UP Daily Oral Language- You MUST copy what you see on the board… You will then use editing marks and a DIFFERENT COLOR to edit the incorrect sentences You will then write the sentences correctly When doing a Warm-UP entry you will need to… 1. Place the day and date on the left side 2. DO the warm-up COMPLETELY…they will be turned in weekly for a grade

BINDER Checks BINDERS CHECKS will happen daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, etc. So being prepared with a organized warm- up journal is necessary. BINDER CHECKS are an easy grade that can help your overall grade if directions are followed.
