Welcome back! Mr. Schmidt 7A Math

Classroom Schedule This is what a typical 7 th Grade schedule looks like.

Math Notebook Students will be required to have a separate 3-ring binder for math, 1- or 1.5-inches which includes Your notebook cover sheet, with name and teacher’s name. This can be in the cover (for view binders) or the first page inside the notebook. This 4-page course syllabus Your work lists (will be supplied by the teacher). Use the dividers for these 5 sections, clearly labeled: -Syllabus/ References -Homework -Vocabulary -Notes -Assessments

Classroom Community Our classroom rules help us get along with each other: Be respectful and responsible. Be organized and follow directions. Be on time. Be prepared.

Supplies Textbook: Students will be issued books spread throughout the year. Binder: 1-inch or 1.5-inch binder that will be used for math only. They are expected to keep their book in this binder at all times. (On page 4 are Notebook Guidelines – parent/guardian signature is required after reading through entire class syllabus). Five notebook dividers Pencils: Students are expected to do math work in pencil only. Correcting Pens: Red is suggested, no blue/black or metallic please Paper: An ample supply of loose-leaf notebook paper and graph paper. Post-its and tape: Necessary for putting the interactive vocabulary section together. Scientific calculator Ruler

Homework Policy No late homework accepted Make-up work: Students are responsible for making up work due to an absence. The allowed time is equal to the number of days absent. In other words, if a student misses one day, then s/he has one day to make up the work. Students are responsible for finding out about missed work via the 7A website. Finally, students are also responsible for showing completed make-up work to the teacher so it can be graded accordingly. Homework Grading Sheet 5 All problems completed correctly 4.5 All problems completed; most work done correctly 4 Most problems attempted, some given wrong answers or incomplete 3 Only half done, most work wrong or incomplete 1-2 Incomplete and incorrect 0 No work

7A Website Homework and test info will be posted on the team website weekly Any important information from the team or teachers can be found here.

Connected Math 3 Along with the Holt textbook, students will receive various workbooks that will be checked out in the library depending on topic. Students will receive log-in information with the syllabus.

Ensuring student success Checking StudentVUE/ParentVUE often. Maintaining your math notebooks. Actively participating in class. Asking questions when you don’t understand something. Dress appropriately for school.
