 When you see a snowy owl it is clear how it got its name. It got its name because it is so white.  The male owls are generally whiter than the females.  As males grow older they get whiter.  Females are never completely white they usually remain brownish with dark markings.  They live mainly in the Arctic in wide open areas called tundra.  The scientific name for the Snowy Owl is Nyctea Scandiaca.

 Fastest mammal on land the cheetah can reach speeds of 60 or 70 miles over an hour.  Cheetahs eat small to medium sized animals, such as hares, impalas, wildebeest calves, and gazelles.  The scientific name for cheetahs is Acinonyx jubatus.  What a weird name….

 Chimpanzees are found in dense rainforests, open woodlands, and broad grasslands in Africa.  The number of chimpanzees in the wild has been reduced to about 200,000 scattered across 21 nations in Africa.  The scientific name for the chimpanzee is Pan Troglodytes.  During the day chimpanzees spend most of their time in trees swinging from branch to branch.

 Bull sharks are the most dangerous sharks in the world, according to many experts. This is because they are an aggressive species of sharks, and they tend to hunt in waters where people often swim: In tropical coast lines.  They eat mainly fish but they also eat dolphins and sea turtles.  The scientific name for a Bull shark is Carcharhinus Leucas.

 As winter approaches, brown bears often called grizzly bears prepare for a long hibernation. During the fall a brown bear eats practically around the clock, stocking up for four to seven months when it’ll have to live off stored body fat. A grizzly may chow down on 90 pounds of food a day.

 They are all vertebrates.  They are all animals.  They all have some type of way of breathing.  They are all really cool. _________________________________________  Not all of them live on land  Not all of them walk on legs  Not all of them can fly

 If you want to see this power point, Then go to And go to the bottom and click on student pages and then go to Alexis and click on coolest animals. And watch my awesome power point.
