The Story The White House needs YOUR help! While your class was on a fieldtrip touring the White House, it was discovered that a very important treasure had been hidden somewhere inside the White House! The Mystery History Man is the one who hid the treasure, but in order to find out where, you must answer the questions that he left behind! Hurry, the first to answer the questions and get to the treasure will receive a reward from the President himself! Because the Mystery History Man loves American history, all of his questions will be based on America Symbols and National Holidays, so are you ready to help save the White House? Let’s do it! Home Page
Game Directions The goal of the game is to find the hidden treasure, and in order to do this, you must be the first to answer five questions relating to American symbols and five questions relating to National Holidays. Each player has a chance to answer ONE question on their turn. If you answer the question correctly, you draw either an American Symbol card or a National Holiday card (depending on which type of question you answer) and then it is the next players turn. But, if you answer the question incorrectly, you must give back one of your cards and it is the next players turn. You get to choose whether you want to answer an American Symbol question (these question boxes are blue) or a National Holiday question (these question boxes are red), but remember that you must have five of each cards in your hand in order to meet the requirement of the Mystery History Man to find his treasure. To win the game, you must be the first person to get five American Symbol cards and five National Holiday cards. Once you have done that, you are the winner! Return
Game Preparation You will need to print out all of the American Symbol cards as well as the National Holiday cards. Home Page
