 Meditation is a way for people to narrow their consciousness to get rid of stress. Meditation is an important part of some religions around the world. MEDITATION NARROWING CONSCIOUSNESS

 There are different methods that people use. Ancient Egyptians would stare at an oil-burning lamp. In India, they would stare at a pattern on a vase or carpet. The methods all focus on a peaceful, repetitive stimulus. METHODS

 Hypnosis comes from the Greek word “hypnos” which means sleep. People think that hypnosis can be an “altered state of consciousness”. HYPNOSIS: MYTHS AND REALITIES

 It began In the late 1700’s rom the ideas of Franz Mesmer, a German physician. Nowadays, doctors can use hypnosis as an anesthetic in certain surgeries. ORIGIN
