Questioning the Quality of Internet Information with Internet Detective

The Internet reflects the real World: - it contains the good, the bad and the ugly... It is left up to you, the user, to decide which is which!

Quality Warning! On the Internet anyone can publish anything - academic journals sit next to comics -presidential speeches, next to idle gossip

Quality Warning! Internet resources are volatile - can be here today, gone tomorrow - might be useful one day and useless the next

Quality Warning! Resources are not always user-friendly - bad design can prohibit access - usability will vary

You need to be careful with Internet Information! don’t degrade your work by using poor quality information don’t get caught citing mis-information learn how to filter search results and sort the good from the bad

It can pay to think like a detective look for clues ask questions consider the motives of people publishing on the Internet trust nobody until you have good cause to do so
