Players Positions G F F C

Basketball Game Situations Center: the tallest player in the team. He attacks close to the basket, has the ability to get free and rebound strongly. This players is also sometimes referred as the post or pivot player. Forward: Plays on attack between the restricted areas and the side lines on either side of the court. They are often taller players and should be able to shoot well from side lines as well as moving into restricted area, especially to collect attacking rebounds. Guard: usually plays in the area between the center line and the free throw line. He is one of the smallest players on the team. He is responsible for bringing the ball up the court to start an attack. He should be able to use his drive to move in close to the basket, not necessarily for a shot, but to draw the defense onto himself.

Basketball Team Physical Makeup Two small players and three big players

Basketball Game Situations If you are a coach and the starting 5 of your team are all tall but not fast, which defensive and offensive tactics you will choose and why?

Basketball Game Situations I will play centerline fast break and I will use a 2-3 set offence In the defense I will use zone defense (2- 3) which dos not require a high level of fitness.

Basketball Game Situations If you should point 5 general offensive rules for the advanced players what will they be? How different will be 5 general offensive rules for the beginners?

Team Attack 1-Look ahead – face the basket you are attacking particularly when you are holding the ball. 2-Pass ahead 3-Move a head – cut to basket after a pass -Drive to basket. -Get free ahead of the team mate holding the ball. 4-Spread out – so as to keep space between team mates and leave the under- basket area clear. 5-Control – most of the game is played without the ball, move to help a team mate. Think before your move.
