9 Themes of Digital Citizenship 1. Read the article with a partner. After each section, rephrase the theme in your own words. 2. Go back and highlight the themes that you think best apply to Skyline. 3. Now, at the bottom, write a sentence that synthesizes all of the most important ideas. A digital citizen at Skyline is….

Digital Citizen: The real definition A digital citizen refers to a person utilizing information technology (IT) in order to engage in society, politics, and government participation. K. Mossberger, et al. define digital citizens as "those who use the Internet regularly and effectively".

What is Digital Citizenship? Digital citizenship is the norms of appropriate, responsible technology use. When you go online you are a digital citizen. Your citizenship is a reflection of how you use technology.

Part I: Take out a piece of paper! Write your synthesized sentence at the top. (This should be the same as the sentence you wrote at the bottom of the article) With your partner, write a scenario that exemplifies your definition of digital citizenship. You can be silly, but it must reflect the sentence you wrote at the top! No more than half a page.

Example: Annemarie Curd and Will Buker Ms. Curd LA Period 5 September 1, 2015 Definition: Write your complete and carefully worded definition of digital citizenship here. Scenario: Your scenario should be both creative and clearly aligned with your definition. Please don’t write a novel; limit yourself to a half a page.

Part II: 1. Trade papers with another partner group! 2. Read the sentence they used to synthesize digital citizenship. 3. On the back, write a non-example for this definition. This one can be silly, but make sure it is appropriate :) No more than half a page.
