3 MATOC Program MATOC = Metropolitan Area Transportation Operations Coordination Program Purpose: interagency real-time transportation information sharing, supporting regionally coordinated management of transportation systems, transportation incident and emergency response, and public information needs Objectives: –Improve technological systems for data sharing –Enhance standard operating procedures & notification practices –Provide more timely & accurate transportation information to the public especially during incidents

4 MATOC Program Background and Status 2005 TPB support, SAFETEA-LU funding through Congressman Moran MATOC documents developed and signed recently –MOU, bylaws, funding agreement Contract for consultant support - Request for Qualifications (RFQ) out now –Award anticipated in August Steering Committee meets monthly, active since 2004 Proposed formation of an Executive Committee
