Day 1 - Outbound Travel Details Friday morning: ● Meet at back of school at 6.40am – to leave promptly at 7.00 am ● Please be careful not to block gate/road ● Flight from Birmigham International to Berlin Tegel Dep: 10.55pm Arr: pm ● Coach to take us to hotel on arrival

Day 1 – Friday pm Arrive at hotel approx 4.00pm Organise rooming for pupils at hotel Evening meal at hotel Leave for Christmas market at Alexanderplatz Return to hotel

Day 2 - Saturday Morning Museum - The Story of Berlin Stroll along the Ku-Damm Lunch at Christmas market Afternoon Take the tube to the Berlin Wall memorial museum Evening meal at hotel Checkpoint Charlie and Christmas market at the Gendarmenmarkt

Day 3 - Sunday Morning Visit the Reichstag, Brandenburg Gate, Site of Hitlers bunker Afternoon GDR Museum Climb the TV tower at Alexanderplatz Evening Potsdamer Platz / Sony Centre and Christmas Market

Luggage VERY IMPORTANT 1 x hold luggage = 20KG (pupils must be able to carry it!) 1 x hand luggage = 5KG 55 centimetres x 40 centimetres high x 20 centimetres deep including wheels, handles, side pocket You will be liable for any excess, so pack lightly please! Clothing – Layers is the name of the game! You must bring: sensible/comfortable shoes warm, weatherproof jacket warm jumper and thick socks scarf and gloves LAST YEAR IT RARELY GOT ABOVE 1-2 DEGREES C

Behaviour You are representing the school at all times: Respect – war, comments etc… Flights/airports – avoids jokes about bombs etc… Using trains – listening carefully to instructions Hotel Restaurants In public

Sweets/food They sell lovely sweets in Germany and the food in Germany is excellent, so please do not fill your child's hand luggage with sweets! I would encourage you to try as many different things as possible, whilst in Berlin!

Personal Belongings Ipads – leave at home! Phones – be aware of roaming costs and avoid calling home. Phones /mp3 players are not permitted during the day around Berlin. Cameras – the cheaper the better
