*All students must have a Science Notebook. *All students must have a sharpened pencil with an eraser. *All students must follow safety rules as outlined in class. *All Grade 2 students must study their Science notes every weekend. *All Grade 3 students must study their Science notes EVERY evening.

Unit 1Trees Through the Seasons Students will explore the changes we see in trees through the year. Unit 2Exploring Properties Students will observe and describe objects. Unit 3Animals What are animals?

Unit 1Animal Diversity Students will explore how animals are alike and different. Unit 2Properties of Matter Students will observe and describe some properties of solids, liquids and gases. Unit 3Weather and Seasons Students will observe changes between seasons.

Unit 1Earth Materials Students will explore the materials that make up the Earth. Unit 2Forces and Motion Students will observe and describe the causes of the movement of objects. Unit 3Plant Diversity Students will observe how plants are alike and different.

Unit 1Matter Students will use many tools to measure. Unit 2Energy Students will learn about light, sound, electricity, magnetism and heat. Unit 3Simple Machines Students will use simple machines. Unit 4Plant and Animal Adaptations Students explore how plants and animals are well-suited to live in their environments.

*Visit the library and get a library card!!! *Use the library card to borrow books on Science topics. *In Grades 2 and 3, help your child study the notes. *Talk to your child about Science topics during every day activities-in any language. *Cook together, measure together, read books together. *Visit ps7q.schoolwires.com regularly *Assessments will be given at the end of each unit.
