Allusion English IV

Definition of Allusion in literature, an implied or indirect reference to a person, event, or thing or to a part of another text. Most allusions are based on the assumption that there is a body of knowledge that is shared by the author and the reader and that therefore the reader will understand the author’s reference.

Your assignment Due: List three allusions in The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao not explained by footnotes. Include page numbers for each. Research the meaning of the three allusions; to what is the author alluding? Write a short explanation. Explain why the author chose that particular allusion.
