World War 1 – Turkey agrees to an armistice on 30 th October Austria agrees to an armistice on 3 rd November Germany agrees to an armistice on 11 th November Armistice – Stop fighting, not official peace. They make ‘peace’ because they will lose if they continue to fight. They all signed separate peace treaties.

Treaty of Sevres 1920 Officially ends the war between the Ottoman empire and the allied powers. The empire was broken up and what remained became Turkey.

Treaty of Saint-Germain-en-Laye 1919 Officially ends the war between the Austro-Hungarian empire and the allied powers.

Treaty of Versailles 1919 Officially ends the war between Germany and the allied powers. Leaders who attended: – Woodrow Wilson (USA) – Lloyd George (UK) – George ‘Tiger’ Clemanceau (France)

Italy was there but left on the side-lines because of their minimal contribution & involvement in the Triple Alliance. Russia didn’t attended because they made a separate treaty. Also they weren’t wanted. They meet to decide on the terms of peace. Germans not invited.
