General Information – College Access and Opportunity and High School Completion grant – 11 school districts – Target minority, low income, first generation, underserved, students in 7 – 12 grade plus college freshman – Serve approximately 13,000 students/year – Year four of seven year federal grant – 4.8 million/year New Mexico Higher Education Department Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs

Increase high school graduation rates Increase postsecondary enrollment Increase student & family knowledge of Postsecondary opportunities Create systemic change within districts Unique Model Onsite Literacy Remediation Implementation of College & Career Readiness System  Academic Achievement  Academic Behaviors Grant Obligations Student Leadership Conference Professional Development for district staff Deliver six required services/activities Member of College and Career Readiness and Evaluation Consortium New Mexico Higher Education Department Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs

Year 7 and beyond… – 2012 evaluation– Strong Theory (logic model) – 2014 evaluation – competition: Evidence of Promise (statistically significant or substantively important positive association. – Predict – 2017 or 2018 competition: Moderate Evidence of Effectiveness (statistically significant positive impact with no unfavorable and overriding impacts). – Administrative Team expectations: Superintendent meetings 2X/year – Sep17 (Alb) Quarterly meetings with Regional Coordinator GU efforts compliment PED requirements already in place – EPSS and School Report Card (crosswalk done in May 2015) New Mexico Higher Education Department Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs
