G042 Task 5

 An understanding of what is required for task e  Present findings to your investigation

 Task E requires you to present your investigation findings,  The word presentation needs to used in its widest sense, you could produce a presentation, newsletter, website or report,  The “presentation” needs to use a number of different information types from a range of sources,  No matter which form your “presentation” takes a formal list of sources (bibliography) using standard notation is required.

 For high marks you should include information in all of these forms within your “presentation”:  Text both created by you and from existing sources;  Graphics from websites and other sources;  Numerical data from spreadsheets;  Graphs and charts;  Results of database searches;  Hyperlinks to other information sources.  As far a possible information forms should be copied and pasted into your “presentation” rather than screen shot – if you use screen shots then technically they are a graphic!!  Use the list to tick off the information types as they are used.

 You must list all sources used at the end of your “presentation” in a formal bibliography using standard notation  Sources used may include:  Web pages  Books  Spreadsheet and database files  A sheet with examples showing how to reference correctly is available at: hyLayout.pdf hyLayout.pdf  Any files names used should be referenced with their file name and path – remember your database used originally came off my website!!!!  There is also a trick to try and find out when a webpage was updated on my site. There is also a trick to try and find out when a webpage was updated on my site

 Band 1 (0-2 marks)  Produce a “presentation” which uses at least three forms of information from slide 4 from at least three different sources. Sources used for the information will be listed – typically just the base URLs of web pages,  Band 2 (3-4 marks)  Produce a “presentation” which uses at least five forms of information from slide 4 from at least five different sources. The presentation will combine the different types of information effectively and coherently. Sources used for the information will be listed in an appropriate form – typically full URLs will be included and file names of local resources used,  Band 3 (5-6 marks)  Produce a well thought out, well structured, coherent “presentation” which uses five forms of information from slide 4 from at least five different sources. Sources used for the information will be listed in a formal bibliography using standard notation. You need to consider carefully how the information needs to be combined so that it is presented in a logical order and in an appropriate style to make the final presentation coherent, easy to follow and easy to understand, including a suitable conclusion.

 Using the tasks completed so far plan, develop and publish the findings to your investigation.  Ensure you evaluate each draft (max 2). Your “presentation” must include different forms of information. A ranges of sources must be used a listed using formal techniques – see sheet for details.
