Oh no! Not another Diwali exhibition! Many of the products being sold by our NGOs are made by beneficiaries who are trained in these crafts. This gives them marketable skills that they can use in the future, and also a chance to earn an income. That way, they are not dependent on charity. When you buy a product made by them, you are giving them a chance for a better future.

AfterTasteAfterTaste was set up by Shalini Datta, a Teach for India alumnus. The organisation helps underprivileged women earn an income by selling products. AfterTaste is an opportunity for the women to earn a dignified livelihood. Check out what they will be bringing!

DEEDS Public Charitable TrustDEEDS Public Charitable Trust provides education and vocational training for the deaf so that they can earn their own livelihoods. They’ve worked with over 12,500 people so far. They run a school, vocational training units and computer centres for the deaf.

OM Creations TrustOM Creations Trust works with developmentally challenged young adults. They train their students to make crafts products, greeting cards and other gifting items so that they can earn a livelihood of their own. Their chocolates are a popular gifting item.

Welfare of Stray DogsWelfare of Stray Dogs focuses on managing issues related to stray dogs in as humane a manner as possible. They’ve neutered over 50,000 dogs and vaccinated 80,000 street dogs against rabies so far.
