Designing A Business Package “A logo is more important than a painting…because a zillon people see the logo and it affects what they do.” -Paul Rand

Letterhead: -Used to introduce yourself to a potential employer -Present an important proposal -Bill someone for a job Letterhead defines your personal or professional identity.

Choose a classically designed, readable typeface. Font should complement the logo- NOT compete for attention Don’t use too many typefaces- this will be visually confusing

The most successful designs show visual balance. Use type and logo consistently when applying the Letterhead layout to Business cards, envelopes and mailing labels.

Envelope Design matches letterhead Uses smaller typeface and tighter leading (the spacing in-between letters and lines of text What problems might you encounter when you move a Letterhead design onto an Envelope? How would you solve them?

Envelopes Keep the logo, images and text at least ¼” from the edge. Graphics must be placed at least 1” from the bottom and never in the right hand corner where stamp and cancellation marks are placed:

Business Cards Help others remember you after a personal introduction. Vertical or Horizontal 3.5” x 2” Should fit into a wallet- if not they may be thrown away font size but must be legible ¼” white area around the outside Keep the same general look as the letterhead and envelope

What makes the following business cards successful?

What Elements and Principles are used?
