Excellent Resources FLL Coaches Handbook Project How-To guide on the FLL website Challenge Project Training DVD (come with handbook) FIRST LEGO League, the Unofficial Guide by Jim Kelly (This is a great resource for project, programming, building - all areas of the competition.)

IMPORTANT Do some work on your project every meeting!!!!!

General Research and Selecting a Topic Read the project overview Try to get each team member to find some information on the topic and share. The FLL Resources page is a good place to start. Ask them for their preferences for the research topic. Discuss each suggestion and, if possible, do more research on each Narrow down to one topic

Researching your topic Who does it? Where do we get the info? How do we keep up with the info? What do we do with all that information?

What to Do with All That Information! Take good notes Record your sources Keep your information organized - in a paper file folder and/or in a computer file folder. You can even store them on a wiki page. Use what you know to help you find a team or student group in another location to work with.

Creative Presentation Skit, song, poem, video, PowerPoint, dance, radio or TV broadcasts, stories, games, TV interview, plays, machinima. Have a backup plan in case your computer with PowerPoint, etc. fails or one of your team members is sick.

Practice and Share Your Information Present to a parent volunteer, teachers, student body, scout troop, etc.
