Language Arts Curriculum The Language Arts curriculum is composed of four parts 1.Spelling/Vocabulary 2.Grammar 3.Literature 4.Writing

Spelling/Vocabulary Students will be given a list of words with Greek and Latin roots to complete an assignment and take a quiz once per quarter Every few weeks, students will create their own word list of ten words based on their own misspellings. They will use these words to complete a practice homework assignment and take a test on that Friday.

Grammar Subject/Verb Agreement Pronoun Use Capitalization/Punctuation Consistency in tone and style Drills and worksheets may be used to teach these concepts Students will practice how to apply these concepts to their writing and will be assessed on their use of grammar in writing rubrics.
